NAGOYA, Japan - Toyota Motor Corp. Executive Vice President Ryuji Araki said at a news conference Aug. 3 in Nagoya the company's group net profit in the first quarter of fiscal 2004 was up 28.8 percent from a year earlier, as higher overseas sales more than offset a stronger-than-expected yen.
